Hi,

For the version of ping used in Redhat, I think you can do:

- Where is ping
$ which ping
/bin/ping

- Now, query the rpm database to know which rpm installs /bin/ping
$ rpm -q --file /bin/ping
iputils-20020124-3

- Next, you can go to the redhat ftp, or use rpmfind.net to search
  and download the SRPM for iputils
