Have you looked in the /var/log/cups in the log files to see if it
gives you any ideas on why it is not working? I have seen that error
when the computer with the printer was off the network. I also
had it when the printers name accidently was changed so the
printer did not exist. Also before I changed Authtype in cupsd.conf
all of my printers are connected to individual computers on both
my home and work network. I actually have 3 printers on each setup
with printers on both windows and linux boxes all computer can
successfully print to all printers at this point. It is really
frustrating trying to get it working but it is much faster than
LPRng for printing on the network. I will warn you that when I
updated CUPS with up2date on my test machine the error log
showed signal 9's and it wouldn't print so I went back to the
rpm's that came with RH7.3
