Well I have been running Unix systems for over 10 years and been using linux since kernel 0.97 and I have NEVER mad a mistake because I was logged in as root. If you are prone to do that, maybe you chose the wrong career.
Anyway, is there an alternative to xlock on RH 8.0? It is still true that UNIX is an operating system for grown ups - IOW: there is no nanny to tell you what you can and can't do. The assumption is that you know what you are doing - ie, if you do something risky, you take extra care. Having said that - I wouldn't mind being told this particular bit of information rather than having to hope that I will one day stumble over it in whichever obscure place RedHat have found good to place it this time. This is after all Linux, not Windows. Knowledge is to be considered good. Or is this viewpoint too subversive? /jan -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list ---------- This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the individual named.
