Interesting...for what it's worth, I'm running 515e's with v6.1(4) and their using udp 514.

So if you use the UDP/514 - that hould work just fine. Perhaps I misunderstood and you WANT to use TCP, instead of UDP for some reason. Which you can. However, UDP/514 works like a champ. I use it for 535's and 525's that run multiple GigE interaces and that generate *alot* of log output, and never seem to have issues with lost log info.
