I think in recent 2.5.x kernels the on fire message has been removed
sadly. I read a bit on the history of the message, it dates back many
years(10-20+?), back when printers were often in other rooms and if there
was a problem, it was likely a jam or something and the printer would
heat up real bad, and catch fire.

but generally that message(last I remember) just means an unknown error
was detected on the printer, it's supposed to get your attention fast
so you can determine what the problem is.
