I have a fresh RH 8.0 box that we are testing some software
on, and need to share files from it with other Win boxes on our Win2kcentric
network, but I have been unable to get Samba configured to play nicely. In fact, I can’t even get SWAT
running. I’ve tried the Samba
howto collection, but a lot of the stuff doesn’t
seem to apply to RH 8. I am trying to set up winbind with
samba so that when other users on the network try to connect to my shares they
are authenticated through Win2k ADS, so that I don’t have to set up
duplicate users and groups on the Linux box. I can join the domain and view the
domain users and groups, but am stuck from here. I can also access other shares on the
Win boxes from my linux, but I have to enter my MSnetwork logon info each time. Any pointers? Ricky Deitemeyer Mediabase (818)461-8096 |
