i'm really sorry, but i'm terrible with X stuff. i'm not quite sure what you mean. xhost +localhost is a command? and i have to put that somewhere in some x startup script? if so, which one? doesn't startx go thru like 3 other files or something? which one do i put it in?
"this must be done from the X server thats on screen 0.1" do you mean i have to run the xhost command after the x server has started? thanks for the help, -- christopher On Monday 27 January 2003 09:28 pm, nate wrote: > christopher j bottaro said: > > i want to start kde on screen 0.1 > > be sure that screen 0.1 will allow connections (xhost +localhost is what > I do.. this must be done from the X server thats on screen 0.1) > > then > > export DISPLAY=localhost:0.1 > > startkde > > this works for me in Xnest. .. > > nate -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
