I've got a adsl connection, i've got a linux and windows system behind the router and neither on neither the other is able to ping my adsl modem which has the 192.168.1.1 IP
My router named twix has 3 interfaces : Eth0:192.168.1.2 gateway 192.168.1.1 Eth1:192.168.2.1 Eth2:192.168.3.1 My linux system : Eth0:192.168.2.2 gateway: 192.168.2.1 Twix can surf on wwww !!! Hi Yohann, It depends on how your computers are connected to the internet. I have internet access via Cable-TV. I use a Linux box as a getway to the Internet. The gateway machine has two ethernet cards in it. On connects to my cable modem. the other to my LAN.
