P4 Hyper Threading

I have a Linux 8.0 system with the smp kernel with all the updates.  It is running with an Intel P4 3.06 GHz processor with a hyper thread compatible bios and chipset (Intel D845PEBT2 motherboard).  I have ht enabled in the BIOS.   From what I have read, I should see two cpu's in /proc/cpuinfo, but I am only seeing one.   What do I need to do to enable hyper threading?   Rick
