I had, in fact, modified the SPEC file with exactly the fix you
suggest, the "rm -f" solution, as a quick hack. I had not realized
that was actually the recommended fix.
In once case, the file in question is the "dir" file in the info
hierarchy, so removal is really the right solution as it should not be
installed.
