Only if you're automatically starting the NICs at boot time. If ONBOOT=yes, then the system may hang for many multiples of minutes while it tries to get a network connection (usually when using DHCP). This is less likely to be a problem with statics, but I'd avoid the whole issue and do you configuration in single-user mode. -- "Of course I'm in shape!
