Vicki, a couple of comments:
1. If this is an intel 430TX chipset based board then you're never going to
be able to cache more than 64Mb of your RAM. There is a performance hit in
this uncached memeory; and it's one of the reasons that I've stuck to my ASUS
XP55T2P4 v3.1 motherboard. On the downside, the HX chipset is no longer
manufactured by intel. Some boards are still available. It doesn't support
SDRAM/DIMM type memory; it uses either parity or non-parity RAM.
On the plus side, with a tagram chip installed, I can support up to 512MB RAM
with this setup. Pending an upgrade to a PII based mboard & system, I prefer
staying with the 430HX chipset based boards.
