If the remote machine has samba running successfully then when you ssh to that machine you should be able to see it from your terminal window.
Can you locally mount a remote Samba networked resource? Hm. Never tried it. You could try forwarding port 120 through ssh, though, if the sysadmin allows port forwarding: $ ssh -L2001:network'sIPaddress:120 but this isn't likely to work. If the goal is to work on remote documents on your local machine, I'd suggest using scp to copy them instead.
