I run RH8 on a Dell Inspiron 4000. My advice is go find the model of Dell notebook you like. Go to the HCL and check out the various parts. In general I like my Inspiron a lot. I just need more ram for the thing. i8kutils -- these allow you to use the volume up and down and stuff. man i8kbuttons once you get RH installed. Also, since it sounds like this will be a workstation for you I would suggest getting apt and synaptic for RH8 from freshrpms.net. Gives you a rich choice of apps to install on your box. I have more desktop and laptop hints for you once you make your choice hit me up on my email directly BEFORE you install. -- Johnathan Bailes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
