I originally had samba-2.2.5 on Red Hat 8.0. It was
upgraded to 2.2.7a, but I had errors, some of which lead me to other errors
(path env not set) and so on. I have removed 2.2.7a and 2.2.5 RPM. Yet
there is still some residual "crap" going on in Linux. I try to reinstall the
2.2.5 version and using my original smb.conf, it doesn't work. The samba server
seems to stall. SMBD and NMBD appear to be okay. The xinetd.conf looks alright.
Tested with testparm and smbstatus, nmblookup, ping
etc.
I have rebuilt the RPM database (rpm --rebuilddb),
still does not let me reinstall samba-2.2.5.src.rpm
I wish to reinstall the 2.2.5 package
(c-code)
Anyone know where I can go from
here???
Thanks
Matt
P.S.L Swat does not work either, did it when things
seemed to be working. Ahh forget it!!
