Have you tried installing the pdksh RPM? This is a public domain clone
of the Korn shell. It has been provided on the Red Hat CD's since 7.2 I
believe. I'm not sure on which CD the package resides, but you can
always download it from your favorite Red Hat mirror.

Hope this helps,
Andy.

Subject: RedHat 8.0 and Korn shell

Hi, i downloaded the korn shell from www.kornshell.com and installed it
as an alternate shell (/bin/ksh) and have it as my current sell
environment.
The problem I get is when I boot up into init runlevel 5. For some
reason, it doesn't source my .profile and/or my .kshrc files. I renamed
the old default .bash_profile
and .bashrc to end in .old just in case they were getting sourced first
anyway. I guess they weren't. The funny thing is that everything works
perfectly if i boot into runlevel 3 from the start.
I would prefer to boot into rl5 so if anyone has a solution to fix it it
would be greatly appreciated.
