No sound at all. Device is identified, volume settings are fine and unmuted. The system is a dual boot and the card works fine in XP? Any solutions??? Sorry if this question has been already answered.

Try editing "vi" /etc/sysconfig/hwconf and look for the sound card in there and see if it is listed as "disabled"?
