Hi!
First of all let me wish all of you a Happy New
Year!
Now, here is my problem:
I have a network with a Windows NT 4.0 Server as a
PDC and a file server running on Linux with Samba 2.2.0a. The password server
is, of course, the NT server. Till now I had no major problems, but I would like
to upgrade the existing NT server to Windows 2k Server, which uses Active
Directory, so I have installed the new PDC, but ooooops: the password
authentication works no more, so I cannot see the files and printers on the
Linux box. I think the problem is that, by using Active Directory, the format of
the user login is changed to [EMAIL PROTECTED]. I know that I
could keep the NT server as a password server, but I would really like to keep
only the Windows 2k server alone. So, is there any possibility to do that and
how could I do it? Did anyone try this with the new Samba 3.0? I would
aprecciate your help!
Thanks in advance!
