I have a Redhat 8.0 box that I would like to login to via xdm from an OS X machine. Ignoring security issues, I have the following set up on the Redhat box,

/etc/xdm/xdm-config
! DisplayManager.requestPort: 0

/etc/xdm/Xservers
[my ip address]:0 foreign

/etc/xdm/Xaccess
* # any host can get a login window

/etc/gdm/gdm.conf
[xdmcp]
Enable=true

I switched my defualt run level from 3 to 5 so X would start up when the system does. I'm sure there is a way to do this without changing inittab, but I want to get this working first, and then get it working right later. I attempt to get a gdm login screen on my OS X box by doing the following from the terminal,

/usr/X11R6/bin/XDarwinStartup -query [my redhat ip]

After telling X to start in Full Screen mode, I get the following error,

AUDIT: Tue Dec 24 12:17:35 2002: 1380 XDarwin: client 1 rejected from local host
Auth name: MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 ID: -1

Any suggestions on which side the problem lies? Redhat or Mac OS X?
