I could have sworn that the code that makes this clear is in
./linux/mm/page_alloc.c but I can't find it. I'm sure that it's in
./linux/mm . Anyway, I don't remember which platform we found out (the
hard way) that this was the case -- we run alpha and intel..but we aren't
insane enough to run macs as servers :)


maybe someone with kernel dev and/or more hardware knowledge than I could
speak?
