You're right, it probably is the last entry in your font path (i.e.
inet/127.0.0.1:7100), and you can fix the problem by removing (or
commenting out) that line in the font path section of your XF86Config
file (located in your /etc/X11 directory). Did you install xfstt (a
true type font server -- It's not bundled with RedHat so you'd have to
have obtained and installed it yourself), because as far as I know
that's a line that is associated with allowing X to read true type
fonts (using xfstt). The error that you reported happend to me when I
was first setting up xfstt, and it happend everytime I tried starting X
without starting xfstt first. Therefore, you could also fix the
problem by making sure that xfstt is functioning properly and running
prior to starting X.
