Sounds like a catch-22.

Well, to make matters worse, what is going to happen when Linux, and all of its
vendors, do make their way into more and more companies?  What is Micro$oft
going to do?

It obviously would have to be a pretty big threat, but don't you think they
would crush the Linux community like a anvil falling on an ant.

Can anyone picture, like I do, an `OS2000' release of Windows, where it includes
`Everything Internet', and by doing away with the Windows name, the DOJ wouldn't
be after them.  They could include an application to suit every conceivable
need, and keep it completely closed, requiring companies to work directly with
M$ to write applications for it..

In other words, now is the time we really need to move on this.  If there is any
delay, or bad decisions, M$ will feel threatened, and put a stop to it.
