whenever a print job is sent to a network printer, there is a burst page
printed.

i want to suppress the burst page by default.

using the syntax lpr -h -P lp0 filename produces no burst page.
this works correct.

however, using the control panel printer configuration to suppress headers
makes no difference. the burst page is still printed. the sh entry in the
printcap file is either present or not present depending upon the supress
headers setting, but for whatever reason, this makes no difference.

below is a copy of the printcap file

# /etc/printcap
#
# Please don't edit this file directly unless you know what you are doing!
# Be warned that the control-panel printtool requires a very strict format!
# Look at the printcap(5) man page for more info.
#
# This file can be edited with the printtool in the control-panel.

##PRINTTOOL3## REMOTE POSTSCRIPT 600x600 letter {} PostScript Default {}
lp0:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp0:\
        :mx#0:\
        :rm=10.1.1.21:\
        :rp=:\
        :if=/var/spool/lpd/lp0/filter:\
        :sh:

what am i missing here?
any ideas?

thanks.
