the how-tos are probably the best "manuals" I've dealt with.
They beat the hell out of the Windows NT docs (and the truth is, linux is
in the class of OS that Windows NT is trying to be in)
the LDP (linux documentation project) also puts out a lot of good stuff.
If you did your install with the "extra documentation" option, then look
in /usr/doc/HOWTO and /usr/doc/LDP respectively. For the most part I think
the HOWTOs are text while the LDP is hypertext. less and lynx are your
friends :)
if you didn't install with the extra docmentation option, then I know that
there are links for this stuff off the red hat site.
