Ok, I did try the export variable with kaffe and it did allow me to access the program. The only problem is that now when it attmepts to load I get an error for "cannot find java/lang/Object...aborting". 1. There is a file called biss.zip in the /usr/share/kaffe directory I currently have that set as the CLASSPATH. 2. I have KAFFEHOME set to /usr/share/kaffe 3. I am not at my machine right now, so I am uncertain how I set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable. I have set them to export. I have a few questions: A. I am familiar with the idea of classes.zip from the jdk for other machines, in the package I installed it is not listed at all. What is the correct zip file to point the CLASSPATH enviorment variable to? B. I assume the KAFFEHOME varible is correct, if I am off target please tell me. C. What would be the correct path for the LD_LIBRARY_PATH? There is a /usr/include/kaffe directory that contains a bunch of *.h C files, but here is one of the other places I am uncertain of. D. Do you think this would be caused by the CLASSPATH variable or the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable (If possible for the sake of my understanding please explain why if you can)? Sorry this letter is so long, I wanted to make my questions as detailed as possible so I can get an understanding of exactly what I am doing wrong here. Any responses will be greatly appreciated, and I will repost this for a few weeks dependent on the number of responses I get.
