Due to a number of issues arrising from using Sage Sovereign on both NT4
and Novell networks, my company are proposing to use Linux as a base for
our network. The users would use a telnet program so the software would
be running locally and not pulling our 1gig of database over the network
all day.

When using sage sovereign V4.75, I am having the following prblems:
1> file locking-
Sage will lock the file when required so no one else can read/write to
it.
The file will stay locked until the user has LOGGED OUT of sovereign and
logged back in again.
Just by finishing with the file is not enough and it is only when the
user loggs back in that the file is released to other users.

Sage will only suport their product on sco/xenix but have offered some
suggestions.ie. Locking method: DRIVE:PATH or Locking method:PATH this
does not help.

2> I am also having trouble with my termcap file, I cannot get Sage
Sovereign to work in colour on my linux box or from any telnet program
running on win95 although "ls --color" works ok.

3>When running Sage sovereign excecutable (svnmos.exe) the following
error is reported at the console:
iBCS: ioctl(1, 6301[..c], 0x0) unsupported

I am running kernel 2.0.31 as i couldnt get iBCS running with 2.0.32

I would apreciate any info and it would be good to hear from anyone who
has had this working.

Server Spec:
RH5.0 Kernel 2.0.31
PCI SCSI Symbios U/W
4G UW SCSI
Intel 200MMX
Gigabyte TX Motherboard
64MB SDRAM
S3 Display
PCI DEC21140 100m/bit
