I would appreciate some advice in order to install RedHat.
Briefly my system is Box: DECpc LPv+ CPU: Evergreen 586 dx4/133 RAM: 20
meg. HD#1: 3.2 gig IBM spec.(4 equal partitions) HD#2: 850 meg Western
Digital Caviar.(2 equal partitions) last partition on each HD empty.
System board integral EIDE drive. Using Ontrack's Disk Manager mounting
Western Digital's v6.0 drive overlay from MBR at boot.
My problem appears to be, if I mount LILO in the MBR it will overwrite
my Disk Manager and I won't have any drives available. If I install LILO
in Linux's root I will still require a boot manager to access LILO which
in turn will probably need MBR access - HELP!!!
For the record I'm running Windows95 (See why I need Linux:-) and have
over 1.5 gig of installed software, applications and development
platforms which wouldn't survive re-installation :-(
I'm hoping their's a way to write LILO to the MBR as well as my Disk
Manager, without requiring a degree squared in drive technology.
Sorry to interrupt the beer party with such a mundane request:)
