I tried posting the other night but my ISP has been flakey...I don't
know if it made it thru so if this is repetitive, I'm sorry.

 I have a Netscape question/problem. I am running RH 5.0 with
kernel 2.0.31 and recently installed Communicator 4.04 and to
connect to my ISP I use Usernet. Thing is, when I start Netscape
it takes _forever_ to start. I wait and wait, wondering if it is
ever is going to start (on occasion I have simply gone on to start
telnet and used remote pine) but then FINALLY after between 1 to 2
minutes, the navigator window/screen comes up. If I open top and
take a look shortly after trying to start netscape, there is no sign
of the prog in the list.

I get the same thing when I start the mailbox...it takes
forever to open. In addition to this, if I am loading a web page and
then hit "Stop" in the menu bar, netscape screen refreshes terminate
for a long time. If I move the netscape window or slide another app
window over netscape, it leaves behind a blank grey-background netscape
window -- no buttons, no menus, no text or graphics at all (this affects
the mailbox/newsreader as well). After a good long time, it finally
refreshes and I get a functional window again.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? Has anyone else
experienced this? It essentially makes Communicator only marginally
useable. There is no inordinant cpu activity on the meter while
waiting for netscape to start or while waiting for a window/screen
refresh.
