This will do *fine*

If you were going to run windows95 on it, you would need at least 32meg
(along w/ some more money), but I could only suggest this if you don't
mind people on the 'net having access to your hard drives.

I use a 486 as a router and a workstation, and I never see even the
slightest hint of slowdowns, even when playing quake :-)

For something like this you could get by w/ 8megs even!
