Hallo,

After having spent weeks of my spare time getting X to work I am
landed with the following problem.

I'm using RH5 on a Pentium 133.

Previous efforts:

X loaded OK but the screen was always wrapped around. Mouse and other
things were OK.

Latest installation:

No wrap around but mouse (old Logitech) refuses to react. The cursor
appears but does not react to movement. Also the control panel appears
although as far as I know I haven't requested it anywhere in the
installation.. RH5 coexists on the machine withe Win95 (OSR2) . The
mouse works perfectly well there.

/usr/sbin/mouseconfig gives "Probing found a serial mouse at cua2" and
ls -l /dev/mouse gives dev/mouse -> cua0

I've read that I need to create a link from dev/mouse to cua
(whatever). But how do I do this and what must take notice of?
Directory I start from, put it in?

How can I stop the Control Panel starting automatically when I
startx?

Does anyone have an idea?

I should add, if you haven't guessed already that I'm very new to
Linux and still don't really know what I'm doing.

Thanks very much in advance.
