DON'T remove the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file!
Plain and simple if you want to add another process on bootup to your
system and don't/don't-want to know how to use SySv then you simply add and
call to it in that file.
I myself just add whatever info i want people to see into that file and
reboot.....but, someone else said to simply run '/etc/rc.d/rc.local' so the
system rereads it.
I 'just' tried that and it worked fine. But if there are alot of calls in
there i wouldn't do it that way..I'd just reboot. (unless there is some
otherway to do it?)
I suppose the removel of the issue.net lines in that file may allow you ues
/etc/issue and /etc/issue.net ?
