lpr fails (=does not produce any output) on my machine when it receives print jobs from other machines, although the remote host is listed in hosts.equiv and lpr works perfectly for local printjobs (--> /etc/printcap should be ok?). I use RH5.0 with lpr-0.21-2 on a 586; here's /etc/printcap: ##PRINTTOOL3## LOCAL stcolor 360x360 a4 {} EpsonStylusColor Default 1 epson:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/epson:\ :mx#0:\ :sh:\ :lp=/dev/lp0:\ :if=/var/spool/lpd/epson/filter: When I start lpd with the -l option I receive the the message, the the remote host "requests recvjob epson". After that nothing happens, no spool files are left, no error messages written. Does anybody have an idea where things go wrong here?
