Are you implying that you cannot have more than one
IDE controller in a system?
I have a primary and secondary IDE controller (up to 4
devices) in my P100 running RH 5.0 No problems
except I am running out of disk space. I have a Compaq
whose BIOS won't allow drives over 2 GB. I had thought
that I could get another IDE controller with a BIOS
capable of handling larger drives and just stick it in a
PCI slot. This would allow me to get a big HD (> 4.0 GB)
and solve many of my problems. Now it sounds like this
won't work.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I guess the only
other options for me are a new system or a SCSI
hard drive. I didn't really want to spend that kind of
money, though.
Thanks for the advice in advance.
Tom
