I'm running RedHat5.0 on a box with 2 ethernet cards. One is connected
to a "private" network (IP address 192.168.1.1) and the other is
connected to our departmental network (IP address xx.yy.zz.142). Both
work quite happily and both networks are accessible from the
machine.
Our problem is that we can see 192.168.1.1 from the departmental
network.
The configs and routing are setup thus:-
lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Bcast:127.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0
UP BROADCAST LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:3584 Metric:1
RX packets:287 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
TX packets:287 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr

UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1

TX packets:35811 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr

TX packets:2724 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0

routed is not running and IP forwarding is off.
Any help on keeping the 192.168. network "private" greatly
appreciated.
Yours,
Stuart
