Hmmm... I have only just recently added Linux to my system (RedHat 5.0).
I have a Matrox Mystique 220 and I installed the MetroX server. So far I
have had no luck at all running X. I have run configX and selected a
generic 1024x768, 65k color monitor (I have a Slackard Hell 15" 1511SL
monitor and it ain't listed) and the Matrox Mystique w/4 meg as my video
card. I save and exit, run startx...and get a black, blank screen. I
cannot get out of this black screen. Hitting CTRL-BKSP doesn't work,
hitting CTRL-+ doesn't do anything. So far, the ONLY way I have found to
get back to CLI is a hard push-button reboot (ouch!). I have also tried
doing all the above configuring in configX, running shutdown, restarting
and then trying startx...same blank screen.

I have then gone in and selected simple, basic, generic IBM VGA as my
video card. When I subsequently run startx, I DO get to X but...640x480,
16 colors just doesn't cut it.

Does anyone have any help or suggestions to offer? Is this a common
problem with trying to use MetroX? I cannot, at present, use any of the
other config methods (I have tried) because I get messages indicating the
the config program either isn't found or that it conflicts with configX.
