Okay.. I have a Maxisound Home Studio Pro64. It has a ESS1868 chip.
isapnp detects the card, and I have it configured to the same io,irq, dma
as the card uses in windows. It seems to detect the card.. but I don't
get any sound. It doesn't seem to detect the midi port at 0x330 either...
I can't even get the cd audio to work. the mixer device works properly
with aumix, and xmixer.

here is the contents of /proc/ :

[root@awake /root]# cat /proc/interrupts
 0: 60981 timer
 1: 2728 keyboard
 2: 0 cascade

13: 1 math error
14: 7 + ide0

[root@awake /root]# cat /proc/ioports

0020-003f : pic1

[root@awake /root]# cat /proc/dma
 1: Sound Blaster8
 4: cascade

so, I am missing io port 0x330 (midi), 0x300, and 0x800 as well, but I'm
not sure what they are for (isapnp detected them) Has anyone gotten an
ESS1868 to work properly? It is supposed to be SB16 compatible, but the
second DMA isn't detected. The main problem is getting it to work at all
:)

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
