After four days of crashing, reinstalling Netscape, X, Linux (I had to fall back on Microsoft Standard Answer #4: Reinstall the OS), we figured out what happened - I had switched window managers from AfterStep to lesstif. Navigator would crash whenever I used one of the window corner drag handles. I also noticed wabi would crash the system, too. I switched back to AfterStep and all is fine.
