Hello everyone! I am having some problems connecting my linux box to a
cable modem. Maybe one of you can lend a hand. = ]

I have my own domain. I have been hosting it on my box, with a 56k
dialup account. I now have a cable box from my local cable company, and
a static ip. The administrator has added my domain to his servers, and
my domain has been modified at internic. I want my box to be the "name
server". I have configured the box to be a caching only nameserver. Will
this work?? Or do I need to go about it another route?
I am running Linux Redhat 4.2, with an Intel EtherExpress PRO/10+PCI
LAN Adapter.
when I do a netstat -i, it shows that the ethernet card is connected:
netstat -i

when I try nslookup, I get:
nslookup
*** Can't find server name for address 206.31.97.147: No response from
server
*** Can't find server name for address 206.31.103.2: No response from

*** Default servers are not available
206.31.97.147 being my static Ip.

When I do route, I get:

I can't ping my gateway, and I cant get an nslookup from my isp's
primary server.

Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!
