Hi,
I have been using RH5.0 with XFree86 for about 4 months now without too
many problems once I got everything configured properly. I am running on
a stand alone machine.
Last night X Windows stalled after I initiated "startx" the screen
remained with a hatched background and the cursor as an X. When I logged
in as root I could successfully "startx" and get the windowns environment
up. The only thing I have done immediately prior to the problem was install
Netscape 4.05, about two day prior. I looked through the log files and did
not see anything obvious that might be wrong. I would appreciate any
suggestions on what
might be the problem or where to look for the problem.
