This is possible but you can't just issue a pwconv5 here since all
shadowed password '*' on /etc/passwd file which is the case in
Slackware instead of 'x' will be interpreted in Redhat's shadow suite a
non-shadowed password itself. You can create a script that convert all '*'
to 'x' then issue a pwconv5.
