Hey there Steve,

I ran into this exact same problem connecting to the NT Server at work.
The fact that your friend at the ISP actually has enable the "allow any
authentication including clear text" is a very good sign.  What that means
is that his NT Server is set up to allow PAP authentication.  Check the
PPP Howto or the RedHat PPP tips for more information.  Basically what you
are going to have to do is use the "Use PAP authentication" button in
netcfg.
