I have downloaded several files to compile such as asclock and the diff file to make it work with Windowmaker. It asks me to use xmkmf or something like this...but when I run the file, it says it does not exist (I am logged in as root). What packages am I missing? And is there a good reference for how to compile programs? How do I use the diff file to add to the program? I have searched the net and really found nothing that is step by step for folks like me who are first timers. Any help would be appreciated.
