That sounds good.  Another option is the MGE ES5+ (480va) smart UPS, 
which I bought at a local Fry's for $169.  It supports SNMP and comes 
in a very sleek package.  Linux drivers are not included on the CDROM, 
but can be downloaded from thier web site (x86 binary only).
