Yes it happen not only me :-)
Few steps
1.install ppp-2.3.3-2.i386.rpm
2.download (or cp) ppp-2.3.3.tar.gz
3.compile ppp-2.3.3.tar.gz(use 'make USE_PAM=1') and cp pppd to /usr/sbin
{don't -forgot to 'make kernel' and recompile with ppp enable) .
This should make the trick.
