Greetings. Every day I get this error message just as the login messages appear on the screen: hdb: write_intr: status=0xd0 {Busy} hda: disabled DMA ide0: reset: success And one night, dmesg was just loaded with this: 03:06: rw=2, want=1096673, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096673, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096674, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096674, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096675, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096675, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096676, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096676, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096677, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096677, limit=1096672 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:06: rw=2, want=1096678, limit=1096672 I've never had this problem with RH before, or seen anything like this in any of the other OSs I use. Can someone tell me what is happening? System is RH 5.0 on a Cyrix 6x86/Triton II. hda is Maxtor and hdb is a JTS. The first time it happened, fsck-ing destroyed a alot of my /dev/* aliases, e.g., /dev/mouse. As I went around repairing the system, I noticed that I didn't have the problem again until after I got the mouse working & rebooted.
