I was running RH 5.0 successfully for about 2 or 3 months before my power
supply died. I bought a new case and RH 5.1 at the same time. I first tried
booting my system after moving to the new case without installing 5.1. That
hung up just after the point that the boot process tried to unmount the old
root. I thought that running the RH5.1 upgrade might help. It didn't. It
failed with a signal hangup type 7, or something like that. That's when I
tried installing RH 5.1 from scratch. I even repartitioned my hard disk.
Nothing seems to work. During some attempts, I got pretty far. However, I
kept getting alerts that installation of certain packages failed because
they couldn't be found. Recent attempts haven't gone far at all. The
install exits just after installing a filesystem package and I am given a
message that it's safe to reboot my system. I am using the original
installation media that I purchased from Linux Mall. Any help will be
appreciated.
