Pretty much.  Apparently the Linux fdisk doesn't set some additional info
that DOS uses.  Note, there are a couple of cases where using Linux fdisk
can be useful (recovering a corrupted partition table, etc), but you won't
be able to boot from/format/scandisk that partition.

You should delete the partition with Linux fdisk to make sure that there are
no problems, then boot with a DOS boot disk and use the DOS fdisk to
recreate the partition.
