Here's a thought:

Search engines.  Use them before posting questions to lists.

www.yahoo.com, for instance, returns 125 hits on "pgp".  The first 20 of
them are all about the particular PGP you're asking about.

You'll find far more complete and accurate answers there than any of us
could type into this list from memory.

That being said, PGP is a program for encryption and digital signatures.
It's something of a standard.  It's also beloved by hacker-types (both the
real meaning of the word, and the stupid press-created antisocial nasty
meaning) because of it's recently-mostly-resolved political troubles.
