Well, I want to thank those who helped me make my busmouse work.... There is no way I
would have figured that out by myself... So, I thought I would share what I did...

IRQ 5 in my system was not shared by anything else, IRQ 3 and 4 are serial ports and
have conflicts and IRQ>5 not available on my mouse card.

1. Added to my Lilo.conf the line
append= "bmouse=5"
re-run lilo
2. watch for the line "Logitech Mouse detected, using IRQ 5"
on boot up
3. cd /usr/sbin
mouseconfig
chose Logitech busmouse (in my case)
in /etc/X11/XF86Config under Section "Pointer" should be Protocol "BusMouse"
4. Running great in Xfree86

Thanks to the group and especially Gee and Mark...

Hi Mike,
I'm no expert in these matters. This is the way I would proceed:
Pkug in the busmouse and boot the machine. When the console presents the
login promt move the mouse. You should see the mouse curser on the screen.
If you see this then all is well with the busmouse. Next I would look to
setting the mouse up for Xwindows. You can issue the command /use/sbin/
mouseconfig to bring up a box to set this mouse or use the other
xconfigurations to do this. I hope this helps. Cheers.
