I'm glad it's not just me inventing problems. Did the install effectively
stop by over-vigourous thrashing? Or did you manage to get somewhere? Of
course, if the damn thing would only get as far as "swapon" stage.

I also saw the kernel message "bdflush() called, going back to sleep" or
similar. Maybe buffers are building up and exhausting memory this way
because of some dubious redhat install kernel patch?

Finally, I assume RH5.1 is still rated as installable on 8Mb machines,
like RH5.0 is?
